Improved Travel Booking Process

Booking travel through Concur and leveraging negotiated rates available through Anthony Travel is becoming even more seamless and mobile!

Beginning Thursday, August 11, 2022, the Request feature in the Concur online booking tool will be removed, streamlining the booking process and allowing users the option to book their travel using the Concur Mobile App. This feature is scheduled to be removed sometime between 5pm on August 10 and August 11.

The removal of the Request feature allows travelers to complete their booking through the Concur online booking tool without the additional step of submitting a Request for approval. This will also allow travelers to book through an Anthony Travel agent directly, without needing to provide a Request ID. Only the traveler’s profile information will be required, which is automatically generated for each Pitt employee.

For departments that require pre-approval for their travelers, an internal process should be established based on each department’s preferences and monitored within the department since pre-approvals will no longer be submitted through the Request feature in Concur.

Additionally, the removal of the Request feature in Concur allows travelers the ability to book through the Concur Mobile App, which provides a user-friendly and secure way to manage expenses, travel, and invoices right from your smartphone. Learn more about the Concur Mobile App.

You may also be aware that Concur now displays carbon emissions information for all flight options, indicating the pounds of CO2 for each trip. Learn more about how air travel impacts Pitt’s goal of carbon neutrality by 2023 and how this new feature can help.

As the booking process through Concur continues to improve, users can also expect an updated user interface coming in the Fall of 2022. While the process will remain the same, the interface will be even more user-friendly. More details to come.
