This month we are excited to shine the supplier spotlight on love, Pittsburgh and share the exciting news about the grand opening of a new facility for SUPRA, a University-wide Contracted Supplier.

love, Pittsburgh is a local and woman-owned, University of Pittsburgh supplier which features a curated assortment of locally made gifts from over 120 Pittsburgh based artists and makers. Co-Founders and Owners, Kelly Sanders and Monica Grunick have four locations all available in the Steel City, including a dedicated “store within a store concept” located on the Fifth Avenue side of the University Store in Oakland, making it easy to shop locally at the location nearest you, especially for those on campus! Grand Opening for SUPRA’s New Facility

On Friday June 9, 2023, SUPRA Office Solutions Inc. (SUPRA), a University-wide Contracted Supplier for office supplies and EMSCO Scientific celebrated the grand opening of their new 70,000 square foot, $25 million-dollar, facility in the Parkside area of Philadelphia. This new building houses a state-of-the-art cryopreservation facility which can store products at minus 80-degree and minus 120-degree temperatures, along with offices, meeting rooms, and warehouse space that houses important medical supplies.

Jennifer Barnes, the Supplier Diversity and Sustainability Manager within the University of Pittsburgh’s Purchasing Services Department, had the opportunity to attend the grand opening event of this first ever Black-owned cryopreservation facility. Find out more about this exciting new facility.
