Please review the following important updates related to products and next day delivery available from University-wide Contracted Supplier, SUPRA/Office Depot:
1. Cutoff Time For Next Day Delivery
The cutoff time to receive next day delivery of SUPRA orders has changed to 2:59pm. If you require a delivery by the next day, ensure your order is placed in the PantherExpress System before this time. This is a result of labor shortages due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This new cutoff time for orders to be delivered the next day has also been updated on the SUPRA/Office Depot punchout in the PantherExpress System.
2. Reminder: Disinfecting Wipe Availability
Disinfecting wipes for general use continue to be available from SUPRA through the PantherExpress System. While supplies last, these wipes can be purchased by all departments/area for general use at $0.01/container of 80 wipes, including the regional campuses. Please note: these supplies are only for University business, not for home use.

3. Price Increase for Certain Paper Products
SUPRA/Office Depot notified us of significant upcoming price increases for certain paper products. The price impact for most products ranges from 8% to 40%. The increases are a result of paper mill closures and industry factors related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, such as labor and transportation shortages and import delays. The increased prices are in line with a steep increase of wood pulp over the past year and are consistent with the US Producer Price Index: Pulp, Paper, and Allied Products: Wood pulp, 211.81 for January 2022. We want to ensure that you and your department have the opportunity to plan and purchase at the current price.
Price changes are anticipated to take place on April 1, 2022.
To offset a portion of the price increases, departments should consider the following options:
- Reducing printing altogether to support sustainability initiatives at Pitt. Pitt IT has developed several tips for going paperless including digital tools that can be implemented by your team.
- A newly branded wood free, carbon neutral paper option is coming soon. We will share more information as it becomes available.
