To support contract management and financial compliance, a budget enforcement feature will be available in the Contracts+ module of the PantherExpress System beginning October 6, 2025. This new feature will automatically restrict total payments made against a contract – using either the Contract Payment Form or the Software Contract Payment Form – to the department’s originally requested contract value. (Please note that the budget enforcement feature will not apply to conference and event agreements.)
How it works:
You will see an error message that reads “Contract Budget Exceeded” if you create a new payment form (Contract Payment and/or Software Contract Payment), a PO change request, or a new requisition against a contract that has reached its spending limit. To request additional funds to be added to the contract, you must submit a contract request and select the “Renewal/Amendment” option.
No action is required from you to implement the feature. This update will be automatically available in the PantherExpress System on October 6th as part of ongoing efforts to maintain adherence to budgetary constraints and contract terms.
